See the light burning in the back yard? It burned 24/7 due to the "ingenious" alternative to a switch they installed...


...that's right, they drilled a hole through a brick wall and plugged it into a socket! Clever, huh? And as you can see, there's more of that elegant plywood paneling I love so much.


And this is the antique that passed as a refrigerator when we moved in. It was a Montgomery Ward, and they've been out of business for how many years? To be honest, I didn't even know they made refrigerators, did you? I can't really say it refrigerated anything, but it did keep things slightly below room temperature. It has since been replaced by your basic freezer-on-the-bottom Kenmore with a very dependable ice-maker.
